Sample post on a demo account — illustrative only, not legal advice.
No one is thinking clearly right after a collision. That is exactly why a short, pre-decided checklist helps: it lets you act without having to figure out what matters while your heart is still pounding.
First, make sure everyone is safe
Check yourself and your passengers, move out of traffic if you safely can, and call for medical help if there is any doubt at all. Injuries from low-speed crashes often show up hours later, so "I feel fine" is not the same as "I am fine."
Then document. Photos of every vehicle, the road, the signals, and the damage are worth more than any memory. Exchange information, but keep the conversation to facts — apologies and theories about fault can be misread later.
In the days after, a short written timeline of what happened and how you feel will help you far more than you expect. Sample content, but the habit is real.
